The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has downplayed the possibility of a coup in the country.

He describes the evidence gathered by government in the alleged coup plot as inadequate.

Last week, three persons were initially picked up for their involvement in the alleged coup plot including one Dr Palma, CEO of Citadel Hospital at Alajo and some military personnel subsequently.

But in an interview with members of the Parliament Press Corps on the sidelines of a two day capacity building workshop at Prampram, the second deputy speaker observed that, the evidence gathered by government is not enough to prosecute these persons who have been put before the court.

He therefore challenged government to prove beyond reasonable doubts that there was an attempt to stage coup in the country by providing reasonable evidence in court against the persons arrested.
