President Nana Akufo Addo says his government will absorb the water bills for the next three months.
The payment of the bill by the government will take effect from April to June 2020.
He made the announcement during his fifth address to the nation on Sunday, April 5 regarding the progress of the partial lockdown. According to Mr. Akufo Addo, the move is expected to lessen the negative economic impact on individuals and businesses due to the outbreak of the COVID-19.
He also assured Ghanaians of the constant supply of electricity and water during these times adding that there will be “no disconnection of supply”
“At the same time, water tankers, both publicly and privately owned are also going to be mobilized to ensure the supply of water to all vulnerable communities”, the President explained.
